Britney W Smith, a versatile artist, discovered her passion for lettering during her tattoo apprenticeship. She joined the lettering community and explored various styles. However, conflicting advice on typography during her graphic design studies left her disheartened. Attending The Lettering Seminar with Martina changed everything. Martina encouraged her to have fun with her lettering, leading Brittany to incorporate it into all her work. She now enjoys experimenting with unique touches and hand letters every package she sends from her online shop, creating a special experience for customers.

Orsi is a graphic designer from Hungary, now living in Denmark. She recently decided to reignite their passion for design after a three-year hiatus. The Lettering Seminar played an instrumental part in her comeback to lettering. Martina and her program motivated Orsi to engaged them in the art form. Martina, shared with Orsi her extensive knowledge and provided a strong structure and workflow, allowing Orsi to focus on her ideas and unfold her creativity.

Rebecca Turner, a UK-based freelance graphic designer, discovered her passion for typographic design during her master’s degree eight years ago. She found Martina’s teaching approach logical, bitesize, and detailed. Thanks to The Lettering Seminar Rebecca created a new range of lettering styles and was eager to try them out. The Program provided her with the tools and confidence for hand lettering and improved her typographical skills. Rebecca enjoyed the studio hours, especially because of the exchange of ideas and the connection with others. She is proud of her completed lettering piece and looks forward to exploring new styles in the future.

“Learning Martina’s work process was extremely helpful for me and for my work as a graphic designer.”

Eva attended The Lettering Seminar in Berlin and met Martina. The Lettering Seminar involved sketching lettering and paying attention to details using tracing paper and pencil, which she found helpful since it was a skill she could incorporate in her personal work. In the second part of The Lettering Seminar, Martina taught Eva how to digitize her sketches using the extreme points technique, that she found particularly useful.
